Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schepp Family Funeral Homes, Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel on Dec. 4, 2025.
Katrina Kris Edick, a woman who was so beloved by her family and friends, passed away on November 28, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 54. Although her time here was far too short, she filled every year with love, laughter, and more photos than most people take in a lifetime which, if you ever visited her home, you know.
Katrina is survived by her parents, Gary and Sherry Kemak; her brother and sister-in-law, Kip and Kristin Kemak; her beloved nephew, Keiran Kemak; and her long-time partner, John DeGilormo, who walked beside her through every season. She is also survived by her cherished aunts and uncles, Rodney and Marcy Kemak; Ron and Joanne Harris; Jerry Whorrall; Mary Powell; and Lisa Whorrall, as well as a long list of cousins who she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers May Kemak and Marilyn Whorrall, her grandfather Donald Whorrall, her aunt Charlene Duncan, and her uncles Terry and Barry Whorrall.
Katrina lived with intention - beautiful, unapologetic intention. The countless framed photos throughout her home were more than décor; they were proof of a fierce and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. She was happiest at John's camp on Lake Ontario, surrounded by nature, tending to her flowers and watching sunsets that seemed to last longer just for her. She had a soft spot for every creature under the sun and defended wildlife with a passion, proudly collecting anything and everything related to dolphins and wolves.
Her plants never had to struggle to survive under her care. Katrina kept immaculate notes for each one, detailing every preference they had, as if each leaf were a little friend. That instinct to nurture carried into every corner of her life. She noticed everything. She cared about everything. And she documented well, everything. Her home was as carefully tended as her plants, every treasure chosen with purpose, every detail reflecting her spirit.
Tucked among her possessions was a quote she saved from Johnny Depp, a sentiment that perfectly captured her heart: "There are four questions of value in life. What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for, and what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same Only Love."
Love was the lens through which she saw the world. Even as cancer stole her strength, it never touched her warmth, her laugh, her delightful loudness, or that signature sass.
Katrina made this world brighter and infinitely more interesting. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her and all who were lucky enough to be loved by her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the
American Cancer Society or your local animal shelter, honoring the causes closest to her heart.
