Joseph Lee Efird, 83, of Albemarle, passed away on January 18, 2023 at his home.
He was born on April 6, 1939 in Albemarle, NC to the late Luther B. Efird and the late Maggie Lee Efird.
Mr. Efird was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph Dale Efird, brother, Edward Efird, and a granddaughter, Lindsey W. Efird.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruby Dick Efird; daughter, Marla (Johnny) Caudle of Albemarle, NC and son, Mark (Amanda) Efird of Lewisville, NC; grandchildren, Ashley (Thomas) Broshart of Albemarle, NC, Crista (Nick) Aldridge of Albemarle, NC, EmmaVanHorn of Lewisville, NC. and Hannah Efird; great-grandchildren, Kanten Holmes, Kiley Holmes, Dale Aldridge and Maggie Aldridge.
Joseph was part owner of Efird's Nursery and Farm of Albemarle. He also enjoyed gardening, his scroll saw work, and feeding his birds. He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church of Albemarle where he sang in the choir for 80 years.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 22, 2023, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, NC. The funeral service will be held at St. Martin's Lutheran Church at 2:00 pm
on Monday, January 23, 2023 officiated by Pastor Phil Thorsen. Burial will follow at the St. Martin's Lutheran Church Cemetery at 16592 St. Martin Rd, Albemarle.
Memorials may be made to St. Martin Church or Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie.
