Jay and his family are our family. When my parents moved to Hot Springs the Erchul´s became our local Grandparents. First stop for pictures on Halloween, hangout for an afternoon and play games. I knew him as Jay until I started school when he became Mr. E my favorite (and nearly everyone else´s). He was kind and fair and appropriately disappointed when you had to "visit" him in his office. I remember every trip when I had done something unkind to earn it. But I also remember how proud I was when he invited me too his office as after I graduated as his friend. I have now moved away and started a family and haven´t communicated as I should have but I think of him often and as a teacher start each day with a joke for my class in his honor.

MR. E as he was called was a great teacher and person to be around. My kids all liked him.
