Joseph M Faust
September 17,1943 – July 15, 2025
Joseph M. Faust passed away on July 15, 2025, due to complications from Parkinson's disease. He was born on September 17, 1943, to Joseph and Elizabeth Faust in St. Louis, Missouri.
Joe was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend with a strong dedication to family and work. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, solving puzzles and Sudoku, cheering for his home team, and treating himself to a Snickers bar and a bowl of ice cream.
He proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked as a boilermaker before beginning a long career with Union Pacific Railroad as a Carman, and later, as a Carman Training Instructor. After retiring, Joe founded a consulting business that took him around the world. He and his wife Nancy also served for many years as secretary and treasurer for the Air Brake Association.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Faust, and his brother, John "Nick" Faust.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy (Goebel), whom he married on November 2, 1970, in Denver, Colorado. Together they raised five children: Janice Selck (Christopher), Marnie Velazquez, Joseph Faust (Andrea), Christine Chatwin (Hyrum), and Nick Faust (Caty). He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Michael (Meggie), Rachael (Jake), Amanda (Justin), Scott (Debbie), Brandon, Tyler (Rannon), Matthew, and Jack; and by his siblings: Steve Faust, Jerry Faust, and Cheryl Lammlein.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service will be held. Joe chose to selflessly donate his body to science to further Parkinson's research. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National The Parkinson's Foundation – Heartland in his memory.
