Joseph P. Flock

Joseph Paul Flock, 64, of Sparta, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2025. Born on April 25, 1961, in Sparta, WI, to Joe and Marlene (Holtet) Flock. Joe lived a life rooted in family and hard work. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud papa.
Joe was hardworking and dedicated. He spent 38 years working for Sparta Co-op Services. He was a jack of all trades, always busy helping with whatever needed done at the Co-op.
Joe was known by many for his quick wit, warm heart, and the way he could light up any room with his stories. To know him was to laugh. He had a talent for humor that was effortless, always ready with a joke, a funny memory, or a playful comment that could bring a smile, even on the hardest days. His laughter was a gift, and it is one we will carry with us forever.
Beyond his jokes and stories, his greatest joy in life was his family. On August 24, 1985, Joe married Lois Richardson. He was a proud father of two daughters, a role he embraced with his whole heart. There was never a moment he wouldn't drop everything just to be there for them, whether they needed advice, a helping hand, or simply to hear, "I love you." When he became a papa, his world grew even brighter. His grandkids were his pride and joy. He lived his life for them, cheering them on at sporting events, teaching life lessons, making them feel loved, and creating memories that will always fill their hearts.
He found happiness in the little things: quiet mornings with a fishing pole in hand, the hum of a side-by-side on a familiar trail, and working on the family farm.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the love he gave so freely and the legacy he leaves behind through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever. He was truly one in a million, loving, generous, spirited, and unforgettable.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Flock; children, Ashley (Josh) Mohn and Miranda (Justin) Flock; grandchildren, Evelyn Flock, Wyatt Mohn, Hudson Flock, and Avery Mohn; mother, Marlene Flock; his siblings, Steve (Mary) Flock, Kathy (Chuck) Kuderer, Margie (Dale) Spohn, Phil (Sue) Flock, Julie (Brian) Peterson, Chuck (Laura) Flock, David (Stephanie) Flock, Krissy Flock, Wayne (Veronica) Flock, and Karen (Dave) Dewey; mother-in-law, Frances Richardson; in-laws, Carol (Tom) White, Vicki (Robert) Meyer, Alan Richardson, and Lisa (Nick) Sphatt; countless nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Flock; father-in-law, Douglas Richardson; nephew, Tyler Elsen; and niece, Melissa Chatman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sparta, WI. Father Eric Berns will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends are invited for visitation Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until 4:00 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 12:00 p.m., at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Sparta. Family and friends are also invited for visitation Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
