Robert "Bob" A. Flock, age 88, of North Platte, Nebraska, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at The Maples at Centennial, following a battle with cancer.

Robert was born August 15, 1937, in Curtis, Nebraska, to Lillie and Lawrence Flock. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1956. After graduation, he served time in the Army and National Guard, with his service officially recorded in the Register of Contributors in 1984.

Bob worked for the local gas company and developed a strong interest in aviation, learning to fly small planes. In 1969, he earned a diploma in Automotive Mechanics from the Commercial Trades Institute and later operated his own repair shop until the sudden passing of his business partner.

He spent 40 years working for the Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District and continued to support the organization even after his retirement.

Robert married Alma Fregoso on August 30, 1980, in Los Angeles, California.

Bob enjoyed staying active throughout his life, including splitting firewood by hand for many years. He loved being around dogs, enjoyed a good beer, working on projects in the garage, fishing, and firearms.

Above all, Bob cherished his freedom-whether traveling a remote mountain highway to Mexico, driving quiet countryside roads, or flying through open skies. He valued the independence and simplicity of life.

He is survived by his wife, Alma; daughter, Nancy Flock; and sister, Beverly Whitesel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his aunt and uncle, Jean and Goethe Flock; cousins Lloyd Flock, Jesse Flock, Susan Flock, and Chad Brauer; and many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
