Joseph Galloway Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 2, 2025.
Joseph Houston Galloway, 78, passed away on December 25, 2024, surrounded by his family. Joe was born on August 29, 1946, to Dorothy Jackson and James Galloway in Houston, Texas.
After graduating from high school, he attended college in California and married his high school sweetheart, Sue. They built a beautiful life together and were married for 58 years.
In 1978, he moved his family to Clear Lake, driven by the desire to create a better future for his children. After retiring from the postal service, Joe pursued entrepreneurial ventures in real estate and landscaping.
In Clear Lake, Joe became a beloved figure in the community through his work coaching youth baseball. It was a role he deeply enjoyed, allowing him to positively impact young lives while finding purpose in his retirement. He built a life rooted in love, family, and community.
He is survived by his wife Sue and the three children they raised: Trisha Galloway, Rodney Galloway (Jennifer), and Shannon Galloway. He was a proud grandfather to Ryan, Ryleigh, McKinley, Cameron, Adison, and a loving great-grandfather to Blake. Joe is also survived by his brothers Ronnie Galloway, Danny Galloway and Reginald Bell, his sister Yvette Bell and many family members and friends.
Joe will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his generosity, and his unwavering commitment to others. His memory lives on in the lives of those he touched, and he will be dearly missed.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 1500 El Camino Real, Houston, TX 77062. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation promoting research and finding a cure for Parkinson's disease.
"We've come a long way together, and you've proved your love is true. My life's been a pleasure, and it's all because of you. And to me you'll always be, as sweet as flowers in May. I'll still love you as I did in yesterday."
