Joseph Gibilisco Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lambie Funeral Home - Philadelphia on Jul. 10, 2024.
Joseph Gibilisco, the beloved husband of Linda Gibilisco, made his final journey home to the Lord on July 5th, 2024. He lived a deeply fulfilling life that graced his family, friends, and community with love, joy, and service. Born in Trenton, NJ on August 31, 1938, he began working at his father's shoe repair shop at the age of eight. This humble beginning paved the way to a lifetime of dedicated craftsmanship through his business, Joe's Shoe Repair in Levittown, PA. His witty humor, gift of gab, and caring nature earned him the affection and respect of his customers, making his shop a beloved community staple.
For seven years, Joe served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Apart from being a veteran and a talented cobbler, he was also a gifted musician who loved to sing and play the piano. Joe and his wife, Linda, ministered in music for 32 years, sharing their faith and inspiring others through a local radio program and in many churches. Joe's commitment to his faith was an encouragement to many.
Joe's spirit extended to his family, whom he loved with all his heart. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda; his sons, David (Lisa) Gibilisco and Jay (Maria) Gibilisco; step-daughters Tracy (Bob) Keen and Kelly Heath; brother Louis (Debby) Gibilisco; sister Dawn Schell; his loving grandchildren Chris, Mike, Steve, Gabe, Holly, Shaun, Mia, Gavin, Kayla, Peyton, and Logan; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Catherine Gibilisco; his son, Ronnie; and his brother, Sam Jr.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Monday, July 15th, 2024 at New Life Christian Church (4 Freedom Dr. Newtown, PA 18940). Calling hours will be from 5-7 pm, and the service will begin at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to New Life Christian Church would be appreciated. Joe touched many lives, and we invite you to share your memories and upload photos on the memorial page, celebrating the life of this extraordinary man.
