Joseph Ginnane, 83, beloved husband of the late Maureen T. Ginnane, passed away peacefully at his home in Nanuet, NY surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 21, 1940 in Kildysart, County Clare, Ireland to Katherine Mary (nee Meere) and John Ginnane. Joseph emigrated to the United States at the age of 18. He worked in the hotel business before beginning his career as an electrician. Joseph was a 56 year member of Local 3 Electrician Union. He enjoyed his long career of 38 years with Petrocelli Electric working in NYC and the camaraderie of his fellow local 3 members.
Joseph enjoyed long walks with his wife, Maureen at Rockland Lake and continued his walks with his children along the Blauvelt Walking Trail. Joseph was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather. He loved nothing more than helping his children and grandchildren in all manner of ways. He enjoyed attending sporting events, giving lifts to school, and daily trips to Dunkin Donuts to catch up with old friends around town. He loved to watch Irish Football and Hurling games at the Irish American Center and Gaelic Park. Always supporting his home county of Clare!
He is survived by his 4 children, Patrick (Mary), Kevin, Joseph, Maureen (Jon), five grandchildren Patrick, Emma, Anna, Joseph and Lauren, brother, Con Ginnane and sister, Ann Hickey. Joseph is predeceased by his beloved wife, Maureen, son Gerard, sister, Dell McHugh, brothers Jimmy, John and Gerard Ginnane.
