Joseph Francois Glover (77) of Canton, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2025, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family.
Joe was kind, generous, and devoted to his family. He could solve almost any problem with hallmark skills of common sense, incredible talent, grace, and physical and mental strength. In a quiet and unassuming way, he showed his support and love through his actions. Joe enjoyed gardening and particularly growing tomatoes, although he also produced a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, which he shared with friends, neighbors and family. He was a long time Georgia Bulldog football fan.
Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley; their children, Julie Glover and Kristen Glover; beloved grandson Elliott Glover; sister, Cathy Glover; brother Jim Glover, and many more cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Porter and Viviane Glover. His memory will be forever cherished by those who had the privilege and honor to know him.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 17, from 12pm-2pm, at Barrett Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at Mossy Creek United Methodist Church. The family would love for all who are able to wear red and black in honor of his love of the Georgia Bulldogs.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the University of Georgia Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources school fund or to a charity of your choice.
