Joseph R. Going died on March 22, 2026. He lived his entire 31 years on Dartmouth Drive, Lancaster. His short life was fraught with challenges, but also joy.
Joey loved live music, a dog named Nellie, stalking the elusive Easter egg, consuming any dish made with potatoes, attending events held in a gym or stadium, swinging, trips to the pool, and eating ice cream.
Later in life, Joey lost his vision and his health was compromised. He still enjoyed sitting in the warmth of the sun and riding in the car with his father. His only regret was that he was never allowed to drive.
He leaves behind his devoted father, Robert M. Going, Jr. (Lancaster); his brother, Kevin Going (York); his sisters, Emily Going (Belfort, Fr.) and Rebecca Schleider (Stuart, FL). Joey joins his mother, Amy Boudreaux, who predeceased him.
A special thank you to Person Directed Support Team who took care of Joey every day. You spiffed him up, fed him, and loved him, too. Your efforts did not go unnoticed and you are appreciated.
Joseph Going was loved and while we celebrate his life, we grieve for what might have been.
Services and interment will be held privately.
