Joseph Charles Goodwin Sr.

Joseph Charles Goodwin, Sr., age 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Austin, TX. A proud Navy Veteran, Joseph served his country with honor and continued to service his community as a skilled electrical technician. His hands-on expertise and dedication to his craft were matched only by his unwavering commitment to his faith and family. Joseph was an ordained deacon at New Life Seventh Day Adventist Church in New Orleans. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, who also enjoyed watching horse racing. Joseph's spiritual guidance, compassionate heart and his positive impact will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him. Beloved husband of 51 years to Rose Henderson Goodwin. Loving father of Kori Goodwin, Joseph Charles (Shawanda) Goodwin, Jr., and Wesley (Natasha) Goodwin. Doting grandfather of Rickey, Allyese, Joseph III, Corey, Gavin, Jeremiah, and Sydney. Son of the late Willie L. Goodwin, Sr. and Mary Ella Mott. Devoted brother of Stephanie G. (Ronald) Maney, Marvin Clyde Goodwin, and the late Eugene Chester Goodwin, and Willie L. Goodwin, Jr. Joseph is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Louis B.
