Joseph Andrew Guardian

Joseph A. Guardian, 79, a resident of Los Lunas, NM passed away on July 15, 2022. Joseph was born in Winslow, AZ on October 17, 1942. He enlisted into the U.S. Army and served his country proudly earning a Purple Heart and Gallantry Cross for saving two soldiers in battle. Joseph was married to his loving wife, Socorro, for 48 years and fathered three children whom he loved greatly. He was a loving grandfather to his one and only granddaughter. Joseph enjoyed being outdoors, fishing. cooking, gardening, and being a part of the matanzas. He was one of the founders of the "Rio Grande Matanzeros" and won 1st place liver back-to-back. He was also one of the original members of the "Ditch Bank Bandits" whose mission was to keep the Bosque and community clean and teach others how to fish. During this time, Joseph earned his nickname "Papa G". Joseph was a proud member of the Knights of Colombus and earned his 4th degree knighthood. He was also a member of the A.C.T.S. community. Joseph is preceded in death by his daughter Veronica, brother, Michael, and his parents. Joseph is survived by his wife Socorro, two sons Anthony and Danny, and his granddaughter Alexis.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at San Clemente Catholic Church beginning with a viewing at 9:00 a.m., rosary at 9:30 a.m. and mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place following mass at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow back at San Clemente Catholic Church.
