Graveside services for Mr. Joseph B. Haley, 85, of the Goodsprings community, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Rusk County Memorial Gardens. Entombment will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson. Mr. Haley passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at his residence. He was born October 24, 1939, in Austin to Logan Lee and Oda Lee (Lankford) Haley. After losing his mother at an early age, Joe grew up in a man's world. His father was a traveling salesman and sharecropper, so Joe spent much of his childhood moving from place to place and even spent time in orphanages and children's homes. He eventually settled in New Salem and started Halco Springs in Goodsprings in the early 1970's. In the 1990's he moved to Goodsprings. Joe enjoyed going fishing, working on the farm, tinkering and restoring old cars, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, and especially getting to know his great-grandchildren, who he loved dearly. Joe was a devout Christian and was a Church of Christ preacher for over forty years, first at the New Salem Church of Christ and then at the Goodsprings Church of Christ and was currently a member of the Henderson Church of Christ. Joe was a man of many talents, he could play quite a few instruments, including the piano, guitar, and banjo. He also was very inventive, from creating and modifying heavy machinery to make any type of spring or wire form to creating the Puzzlemaster Table to keep puzzles safe and organized. If he thought long and hard enough about a problem, he could find a solution. He also had a mischievous side and enjoyed playing pranks on his family and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Logan and Oda Haley; his wife, Ouida "Jane" Haley, wife, Lillian Haley; and siblings, Logan Lee Haley Jr., Elton "Joy" Haley, Otis Haley, Lillie Mae Morgan, Edna Marie Cahill, Ruby Jean Haley, Samuel Weldon Haley, and Bonnie Faye Haley. Survivors include his children, Daniel Page and wife Sandi of Mississippi, Deborah Miller and husband Leon of Brachfield, Joseph Leon Haley and wife Michelle of Henderson, Jana Haley of Henderson, Heather Haley of Liberty City; grandchildren, Brandi Jacobs, Sara Hobbs, Elisabeth McVeigh, Seth Miller, Chad Miller and wife Emily, Heath Haley and wife Faith, Audrey Shelby and husband Justin, Laura Reeves and husband Travis, Bradley Bailey, Connor Bailey, Breanna Parmer, Tessa Parmer, Natalee Hairston; great-grandchildren, Carl Shelby, Ruger Reeves, Riley Reeves, Huxton Haley; special nephews, Homer Morgan, Dan Huckabee; special cousin, Bill Haley of San Angelo; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, TX 75701. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of East Texas for the wonderful care they gave during this time. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.crawfordacrim.com.
