Joseph Paul Harlett, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on January 7, 1939, in Danville, Ohio, Joseph lived a life rich in love, service, and craftsmanship.
Joseph dedicated 45 years of his life to the trade industry, primarily working as an electrician and carpenter for Paul Weber Builders, where his skills and work ethic earned him deep respect among colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joseph served his country honorably as a veteran of the Army, demonstrating the values of integrity and commitment that defined his life.
A lifelong resident of Ohio, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly the time spent on his beloved family farm, Sycamore Farm. Joseph was an avid furniture maker and beekeeper, passionately contributing to his hobbies as an active member of two local beekeeping clubs. His nurturing spirit extended beyond his personal interests; he was a dedicated volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, helping to provide homes for those in need.
Joseph's faith was a cornerstone of his life. A long-time and beloved member of St. Paul Catholic Church, he served as a Lector for over 40 years and was involved in the Appalachian Mission Program, sharing his gifts of service with his community and beyond.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Agnes Harlett; and sisters, Mary Anges Bawden and Barbara Harlett
He leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Harlett, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage; children, Jeanne Marie (Mark) Lewis, Daniel Harlett, Victoria (Matt) Kocisko; grandchildren, Noah, Ethan, Luke, Daniel, Andrew; siblings, Jane (Robert) Lawson, John (Gloria) Harlett; and many nieces and nephews.

We, Alan and Janet Yingling can´t begin to tell you all the great times we´ve had with Joe and Mary well over 58 years at gatherings for progressive dinners, fun games we played and just laughs and laughs the whole time. Parties when we were even single. We could go on and on about GREAT times that we had. Can still see and never ever forget his loving smile especially to the ladies. To know Joe and him in our lives was a HUGE GOD wink. Thank you for him being a part of our lives. May you rest in peace.
