He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Harriet Hoffman; his daughter, Aviva Hoffman; his first wife, Beryl Cohen, and his second wife, Vivian Hoffman.
Jan is survived by his children, Shai Hoffman (Allison) and Justin Hoffman (Kristen); his grandchildren, Annabelle Hoffman and Benjamin Hoffman; his cousin, Roberta "Bobbe" Vaughn; along with extended family and many dear friends.
A proud retired veteran of the Army National Guard, Jan went on to serve as a military civilian until his second retirement. In later years, he enjoyed working seasonally with the Montgomery Biscuits, Montgomery's minor league baseball team, where he was known for serving up laughs and ice cold beer as much as camaraderie. He volunteered with AARP and the Biscuits Booster Club.
Jan will be remembered for his devotion to family, his service to community and country, and the warmth and humor he shared with all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jan's memory to the American Cancer Society.
Shiva (visitation) will be observed at the family residence on October 26, 2025, from 11 AM to 4 PM. For details contact Prattville Memorial. Graveside services will take place Monday, October 27, 2025, at 10:15 AM at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama. Attendees are kindly asked to arrive 10 minutes early.

I have known Jan for many years and always considered him a close friend. I will miss him when attending the Biscuits game.

We always enjoyed visiting with Jan at the Biscuits
games. He never met a stranger. He was a multi-
talented Renaissance man with a wonderful family.
We will miss you dearly.
