Joseph Richard "Ricky" Holcombe died peacefully with family at his bedside on April 15th, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday April 19, 2022, at Munford Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until 1:30pm at Jenifer Baptist Church prior to the service. Services will be officiated by his grandson, Chaz Champion.
Pallbearers will be T.J. Holcombe, Wade Champion, Carter Champion, Canaan Champion, Mark Conerly and Blake Haney.
Mr. Holcombe was preceded in death by his parents Tommy Dick and Hazel Holcombe, and brothers Dicky Holcombe and Tommy Holcombe. He is survived by his children Hydie (Wade) Champion, Haley (Michael) Meyeres, and Thomas Joseph "TJ" Holcombe; Grandchildren, Chaz (Andrea) Champion, Carter Champion, Canaan Champion and Sophia Holcombe; and Great Grandchildren Kage Champion and Piper Champion; his sister, Angel (Gary) Carter, First wife and dedicated care giver, Frankie Holcombe and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Holcombe was born on March 4, 1952. Ricky was a graduate of Munford High School, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Accounting from Jacksonville State University and graduated at the top of his class at the Sargent Majors Academy in El Paso Texas. Mr. Holcombe was a retired Sargent Major in the United States Army and was also a retired civil servant from the United States Post Office. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Angelynn Luckado Memorial Scholarship Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
