Joseph Edward “Ed” Horky, born January 8, 1951, passed away on July 5, 2025, at the age of 74.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Valerie Horky; his daughter, Julianne Horky; his sister, Tina Horky Brown and her husband, Tom Brown.
Ed was known to be a leader, a devoted fisherman, and an avid golfer. He had an unwavering passion for the Baltimore Ravens, his boat, and above all, his daughter.
He spent many years serving Anne Arundel County Government as a dedicated traffic engineer, taking pride in improving the roads and safety of his community. Ed also gave his time generously to the United States Pony Club, serving as District Commissioner of the Annapolis Pony Club, where he mentored countless young riders and families, leaving a lasting legacy. Ed was also a past member of the Annapolis Elks Lodge.
Ed will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of the Chesapeake Bay, and his deep loyalty to his family and friends.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Cemetery on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 10am.
