Joseph Jakobi Obituary
Joseph (Jake) M. Jakobi, age 81, of Niles, IL, passed away July 16, 2025. Jake was born on October 11, 1943 in Chicago, IL to the late Henry and Anne (nee Oehlberg) Jakobi. Loving father of Stacie L.Van Der Bosch and Jami L. Jakobi; dearest grandfather of Hadley E. Van Der Bosch, Olivia C. Oatsvall and Reese E. Oatsvall; former spouse of Kathleen E Jakobi (nee McEnerney) the mother of his children; fond brother of Henry (Hank) Jakobi Jr. and Patricia Esterly (nee Jakobi); dear uncle of many nieces and nephews; longtime friend of many. Jake will be greatly missed.
Jake grew up in Chicago and was a longtime resident of Niles, IL. He served in the US Marine Corp, was a retired Teamster with Local 705, and a legendary softball player and member of the Chicago 16” Softball Hall of Fame.
Per Jake’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
