Joseph "Joe" Manuel Abeyta, 72, passed away on September 24, 2024, in Ogden, UT. Born on August 25, 1952, Joe graduated from Ogden High School, where he was a passionate and skilled pitcher for the school's baseball team.

Joe was a lover of the outdoors, frequently found hiking, fishing, and camping in the mountains. His love for sports extended well beyond his high school days, as he continued playing baseball and basketball with his children. A social butterfly, Joe enjoyed attending classic rock concerts and was always ready for a gathering with friends and family whom he adored deeply.

Joe is survived by a loving family, including his children, Angie Abeyta, Eric (Michelle) Abeyta, and Sheldon Abeyta; grandchildren, Madyson (Curtis) Wilder, Aubrey (William) Blanton, Sarah, Kassidy, Skylar, Zyrek, Benjamin, Landon Abeyta, and Paxton Bitter; great-grandsons, Keagan Blanton and Jennings Wilder; and his siblings, Benjamin Abeyta, JoAnn Kennedy, Linda Smith, and Jerry Abeyta. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Elionel "Nellie" Abeyta; and his sisters, Theresa Silva, Carmen Powell, and Adele Brady.

Services and Rosary will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. 

Joe's life was a testament to his joyous and loving spirit, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
