Joseph "Joe Cool" Wilson

JOSEPH PATRICK WILSON, 65, of Weeki Wachee, Florida, known always as "Joe Cool" to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2015 in Spring Hill, FL. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by family and friends, as they played guitar and sang some special songs for his own private concert. Joe was born on June 21, 1950 in New Britain, Connecticut, the son of Richard and Florence Wilson. He attended the University of Connecticut in Waterbury. Joe managed a camera store in New Haven, Connecticut for several years, reflecting his lifelong passion for photography. When Joe first came to Spring Hill in 1993, he worked as a real estate agent for Prudential Pro Realty where he met longtime friend and companion Adele Poston, also a Prudential agent at the time. Joe worked at Prudential for many years until his father became ill and he took the responsibility of caring for him in his home. Joe took also the responsibility for his mother until she reached the age of 92. In 2000 he began working as an executive assistant for Adele, then a real estate agent at ReMax Advantage Realty, a collaborative partnership that continued until he passed away. Joe always had a positive attitude, a quick wit, and an easy smile. He was friendly and had a natural way of making each person feel special. He was always generous with praise and would help anyone. Joe was known for his wonderful sense of humor. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Florence Wilson, and his uncle Ed Sheren. He is survived by his fiancé Adele Poston; a brother, Richard Wilson and sister-in-law Elizabeth Wilson; nephews Edward and Thomas Wilson; a niece Jennifer Stevens; a great nephew Strafford Stevens; as well as loving family members and many friends. Joe's visitation is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at the Seven Hills Chapel at Brewer Funeral Home, 280 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill, FL. A "Celebration of Life" service will follow at 3 p.m., and then the funeral procession will proceed to Masaryktown Cemetery for the Committal of Ashes. Following the Committal, everyone is invited to join the family for refreshments at the River Run Clubhouse, 6565 River Lodge Lane, Spring Hill, FL.
