Joseph Johnston Obituary Joseph Paul Johnston, 75, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was born November 3, 1949 in Gary, Indiana to Flavian H. and Margaret P. "Pauline" (Banks) Johnston. On April 1, 1972 in Crown Point, he married Karen Lee Holtzman who passed away June 14, 2022. Joseph is survived by his children Lee Anne Johnston of Valparaiso and David Joseph (fiance Shelby) Johnston of Portage; his brother Samuel Howard Johnston of Porter and his special girl Junebug. In addition to his wife, Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William Michael Johnston. He was retired from NIPSCO where he worked for many years as a gas supervisor. A memorial visitation will be on Friday, January 10th from 3-7 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. in Valparaiso. Services will take place at 7:00 PM on Friday. Pastor Toby Guill will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
