Joseph S. “Joe” Kane, 71 of Elysburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born at the former Ashland State Hospital, one of fifteen children born to the late James R. and Mary A. (Noon) Kane of Centralia.
He graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School. Prior to retiring, he was employed by R.U. Troutman & Sons, Sunbury.
Joe is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Janelle; daughters, Colleen L. Kane Gilger and her husband John W. Gilger and Shannon R. Kane; granddaughters, Haleigh A. Gilger and Macy L. Gilger; numerous siblings with their spouses; dozens of nieces and nephews, beloved cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J.
