Joseph Kolf Obituary

Joseph P. Kolf III, 65, beloved husband of Darlene "Bunny" passed away on August 23, 2025 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 12, 1960, he was the son of the late Joseph Peter Kolf Jr. and Marianne (Conlon) Kolf.

Everyone who knew Joe knew that he had not one but five true loves in his life. Music, cooking, his children, Bunny, and most of all the Boston Red Sox. Everyone would always know where to find Joe, you just had to follow the blasting tunes of Led Zepplin or the Eagles. Joe and his second daughter Bri, would spend hours discussing their favorite bands and sharing new and old music. If you asked Joe, music always sounded better in the kitchen, with a delicious meal going on the stove. Joe had the amazing talent of printing recipes and never following them. Joe has passed that beautiful trait onto his first born, Kaylee. His kind heart, witty sarcasm, and sense of humor captured the hearts of many, but especially Bunny's. Joe was quite the traveler, making sure Bunny and he got the best food, and saw the best sights where ever they went. You'd never catch Joe without a well worn Boston hat, always cheering for the Sox, even when they didn't win. Joe, and his youngest son shared that love of baseball. Joe was Mike's biggest fan, following his career from t-ball, through high school, college, and men's softball leagues.

Along with his loving wife Bunny of 33 years, he is survived by his children; Kaylee Kolf, Briana Kolf, and Michael Kolf, his sisters MaryAnn Paradise (Ed), Michele Kolf (Dennis Pontanella), Barbara Kenney (Jim), Betsy Pambianchi (Fred), Grace Kolf, and his sister-in-laws, Danielle Swift and Jenny Kolf. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Mars, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

He predeceased by his brother Tommy.

The family will receive friends at Brookfield Funeral Home,786 Federal Road, Brookfield CT on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 12 to 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sphere, Camp Jabberwocky, and/or the Brookfield Baseball and Softball Association.

I reconnected with Joe on Facebook. We shared many posts about our love of the Red Sox and all the fabulous recipes he would post. My prayers and thoughts go out to his entire family in this very difficult time.
