Joseph Kozikowski
June 20, 1934 - February 7, 2026
Joseph Kozikowski left this world on February 7, 2026 to be reunited with his late wife Lucie and granddaughter Melissa. He was born in a Polish neighborhood of Philadelphia on June 20, 1934. His parents immigrated from Poland, became American citizens, and worked hard to give a good life to their two sons.

When Joe was three, his family moved to Rutledge, Pennsylvania, where he attended Rutledge Grammar School and Ridley High. He studied electrical engineering at M.I.T. and obtained his Ph.D. at University of Pennsylvania.

Joe spent eight years working on the space program at Burroughs Corporation in Paoli, PA, where he did trajectory analysis and electronics design. In 1964, he joined the faculty of Villanova University and taught electrical engineering for 45 years before he retired. During that time, he also served as department chairperson for 4 years. He thoroughly enjoyed teaching, giving practical examples to his students who called him Dr. K.

Joe was blessed with 51 years of a good marriage to Lucie who died in 2010. He was blessed again with a second marriage to Leila. In 2016, he moved from Media, PA to Burbank, CA to spend his remaining years with Leila. He is survived by Leila, his sons Joseph and Richard (Heather), daughter Jean, stepson Freddy, grandsons Joseph, John, and Christopher, and granddaughters Christine and Catherine, and great-granddaughter Ava.
