Joseph Anthony Romano

Joseph Anthony Romano, age 85, of Springfield, PA, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 14, 1940, in Philadelphia to the late Anthony and Sara Romano, Joe was a man defined by his unwavering devotion to family and a legendary work ethic. He proudly served his country as an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force before embarking on a distinguished 50-year career in the carpet industry with Eurotex.

Joe was the devoted husband of Frances Romano, with whom he shared 63 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love and laughter. As a father, he was a constant mentor and role model to his sons, Joe and Paul. In his later years, nothing brought him more joy than being "Grandpa" to his granddaughter, Sara Rose, whom he cherished deeply.

A man of great character and simple pleasures, Joe's happiest moments were spent in Sea Isle City. His summers were filled with the company of family and friends, morning Bloody Marys, long days on the beach, and sunsets on the deck after dinner. He was an avid card player, specifically Pinochle, and a passionate fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. Joe leaves behind a legacy of integrity, kindness, and a smile that could light up any room.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Fran; his sons, Joe Romano and Paul Romano (Diane); his adored granddaughter, Sara Rose Romano; and Matt Schwarzman (Nina). He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Mario and Richard.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Joe's life on Friday, January 30, at the D'Anjolell-Barone Memorial Home located at 908 South Providence Road, Wallingford, PA. A viewing will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM, followed by a prayer service at 1:00 PM.
