Joseph Harry Lamplugh Sr.

Joseph Harry Lamplugh Sr., lovingly known as "Bagels" to family and friends, entered eternal rest on June 27th, 2024, at age of eighty-nine. Born on May 29, 1935, to the late Harry and Francis (McHugh) Lamplugh of Pennsport, Philadelphia, PA. Joseph was the youngest of four sibling, Catherine (D'Onofrio), Theresa (Andrus), and Ella (Misinkavitch). They were raised in Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, where they regularly attended mass. Joseph served his country as a U.S. Marine and was honorably discharged. He was an armored car driver for Protective Motor Services (Armored Car) and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He went on to marry Ameila F. Vingiuerra and settle down in his childhood home of 205 Wilder Street. They would raise Denise (Daniel Adams) and Joseph (Martha Peruso) in the same said house. Joe was a loving father and went on to be devoted Pop to Joseph III (Kelli), Russell (Megan), Jennifer Sarin (Shawn), Bryan, Gabrielle Harvey (Alexsandr) and Kyra Adams (Alan). Joe was the dearest "Pop with no hairs" to Russell Jr., Joseph IV, Olivia, Vivien, Charles, Addison Sarin, and Lilly. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, as he was very family oriented. Joseph spent his days fishing, hunting, running, and on the water. In his retirement he loved his days on the bay in West Wildwood with his long-term companion, the late Dolores Dewees (her children Susan Bielec (John), John (Robin) and Michael (Regina)). We will miss our hunting seasons together, our morning rotate for coffee and danish, and many holidays together. Relatives and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Rogers Funeral, 1426-30 South 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147 from after 8 AM until 10 AM followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1404 South 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
