Joseph Larson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fred H McGrath & Son, Inc. - Bronxville on Jun. 7, 2024.
Joseph F. Larson (54) passed away in his home, surrounded by his family on June 6, 2024. He was born on October 28, 1969, to Joyce Sullivan (Rizzo) and Ronald Larson, who raised him in Floral Park, NY with his two younger sisters, Melissa and Stacie. He was a proud graduate from Long Island schools:Saint Hedwig's, Chaminade High School, and Hofstra University. Joe met his wife, best friend, and soulmate, Laurie (Burns), at Discovery Channel in 1992 where their deep friendship began over their mutual love of Bruce Springsteen music.
In 2001, Joe and Laurie were married at St. Sebastian's, Woodside, living in Forest Hills, Queens. They welcomed Tara Elizabeth at "The Pinnacle" and soon moved to their home Colonial Heights and joined Annunciation Parish where Joseph Dylan completed their family.
Joe always put his family first. He was a devoted dad, superior cook, and holiday decorator extraordinaire. He proudly attendedTara and Joey's sports games, dance recitals, school plays, school concerts, scouting events, and much more with his video and still cameras in hand, utilizing his media production background to create cherished video compilations of these activities. He loved creating professional productions of his children's Sacraments, graduations, and birthdays by finding just the right blend of music, video, and images to create his memorable masterpieces.
Being an active member and brotherhood of the Annunciation-Our Lady Fatima's Blessed Mother Council was very special to him. Joe was also a Past Grand Knight and enjoyed fundraising efforts for the Louis Capozi Service Award for Annunciation students, annual trips to CitiField, and the Army football game at West Point. He also took on facilitating the Knights' most recent parish Blood Drive.
Joe was also an avid sports fan and relished following his favorites: the New York Yankees, the New York Mets (both teams are represented with stadium seats in his basement) the New York Rangers, and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed personally collecting sports and music autographs with all athletes to prove it!
In addition to his wife and children and his beloved mini-Goldendoodle Lulu, Joe is survived by his parents Joyce Sullivan and Ronald Larson, sisters Melissa Anderson (John) and Stacie Campisi (Nick), brother and sister–in-law Bill and Catherine Burns, sister and brother in-law Colleen Burns and John Mulhern, his nieces and nephew, Mary Burns, Emily Llewellyn, Anne Burns, Max Llewellyn, and Isabella Campisi as well as friends and family too numerous to list.
He is a Son, Husband, Father, and Friend, and a good man who will be greatly missed.
