Joseph E. Laubscher, Sr., 78, of Howard, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, at Lock Haven Rehab and Senior Living.

Joseph was born Sept. 18, 1946, to Melvin C. and Mary I. (Fetterman) Laubscher.

On March 27, 1976, he married the love of his life, Relda M. (Bechdel) Laubscher, who survives.

Joseph worked as a manager at Haven Homes. In his free time he loved fishing and his yearly trip to Knoebels with family. He enjoyed reading and could finish multiple books a week. He also loved PSU and was an avid fan.

In addition to his wife, Relda, he is survived by five daughters, Sherry Stover, of Howard, Ann Laubscher, of Milesburg, Sheila Caddell, of Swissdale, Bobbie Jo Moses, of Georgia, and Nonnie Brown, of Florida; four sons, Calvin Stover, Jr., of Beech Creek, and Chuck Stover, Brian Stover and Joe Laubscher, Jr., all of Lock Haven.

Joe was a father figure to granddaughters, Monica Bee, Nicole Phillips and Misty Leitch; and his great-granddaughter, Brianna Packer. He is survived by 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren, with another on the way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin daughters, Kathy Wolfe and Karen Reed; a granddaughter, Michaella Wolfe; and a great-grandson, Ryan Leitch.

Funeral services for Joseph E. Laubscher, Sr. will be held in the Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, Pa., at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, with Pastor Russell Moldovan of the Blanchard Church of Christ officiating.

Friends and family will be received in the funeral home two hours prior to services.

Burial will be private at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
