Obituary of Joseph William Leber
Joseph Leber, 77, of Centennial Colorado entered into God's Kingdom on October 29, 2023. He was born June 24, 1946, preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Theresa and brother Rudy. Joe was a loving husband to his beloved wife Diane for over 55 years and cherished his family; three sons Joe Jr. (Mary), John (Monique), Jim (Misty); five grandsons Nihklos, Trenton, Matthew (Trista), Brody, Bryce, and great granddaughter McKenna.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Joe married the love of his life, Diane, in 1968 and promptly served his Country in Vietnam as a member of the 101st Airborne in 1969. Simultaneous to his service, their family started and grew upon his return. While raising their sons, Joe became a pillar in his community as Boy Scout Leader and dedication to his Catholic faith. Joe's family and extended family were cherished and visited at every opportunity. Not only did Joe and Diane support and visit their sons as their careers took them to various parts of the country, they made it a priority to attend the many events with extended families.
In 1991 Joe accepted a job transfer to Centennial Colorado with AT&T as a phone system engineer after service with Illinois Bell. Throughout the company's mergers, acquisitions, and name changes, Joe remained a dedicated and valued employee for 39 years. The move to Colorado not only proved more suitable for Diane's Multiple Sclerosis condition but also provided many opportunities to further enjoy the Western United States during their many family trips. As member of VFW Pat Hannon Post 4666, Joe further served his fellow veterans and community occupying Commander and Trustee roles. Joe has and will continue to set an example of how to live a balanced life focused on family, faith, and the Country he deeply loved and fought for.
Respected and admired by many for his selfless devotion to Diane and his family, Joe will be missed by all whom he touched.
