Joseph Levan Obituary
Joseph was born in Reading on February 27, 1928, a son of the late Joseph S. and Augusta E. (Guinther) Levan. He was a Navy Veteran proudly serving his country during WWll. He enjoyed Delaware weekends, fishing and hanging out with family and friends, watching Philadelphia Phillies and NASCAR. Joseph was the owner/operator of J.S. Levan and Sons.
Joseph was predeceased by his siblings; Clifford Levan, Arlene Berkenstock, and Mary Young.
Surviving are four sons: Joseph S. Levan lll, Dennis K. and his wife Pam Levan, Brian K. and his wife Suzanne Levan, and Kevin A. Levan. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Eric M. and his wife Sarah Levan, Brandon K, Ryan T, Dylan and his wife Emily Levan, Melissa and her husband Timothy Herbine, Matthew and his wife Kate Levan, and Jennifer and her husband Gregory Hunsberger.
Also surviving are eight Great-Grandchildren: Maxwell and Eva Levan, Eleanor and Emmett Levan, Ella Herbine, Jake, Jaci, and Julia Hunsberger.
He will be sadly missed by all.
A Memorial Service for Joseph will be Tuesday March 12, 2024 at 11am in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Inurnment to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A Memorial gathering will be Tuesday March 12, 2024 from 10 to 11am. in the funeral home.

"A sailor has passed away today." Joseph, you failed to make your battle stations during general quarters. You are now relieved from your watch. A job well done fellow navy war veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom and democracy. The carrier has turned into the wind preparing for your final departure. The plank is in place and honor guards are stationed. Taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Smooth sailing shipmate. A Navy Vietnam Veteran.

Many years ago Mr. Levan helped us when we were starting a service department in a company we had. I remember that he was always a most helpful person and always a gentleman. Our sympathy goes out to the family.
