We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Senator Joseph I. Lieberman. He is survived by his wife, Hadassah, his sisters, Rietta and Ellen, his children, Matthew, Rebecca, Ethan and Hana, and his grandchildren: Nesya, Willie, Maddy, Camilla, Eden, Yitzhak, Yoav, Akiva, Binyamin, Meir, Avraham Shmuel, Shlomo and Nava Elka.
The funeral will take place on Friday, March 29th, 2024 at 10 a.m., at: Congregation Agudath Sholom, 301 Strawberry Hill Avenue in Stamford.

I was very moved by the loving relationship between Joe Lieberman and his very special wife, Hadassah. I learned about their relationship after reading "Hadassah." The book was a beautiful memoir. Matt (), I don't know if you remember "Morah Rachel" from 5th grade in Ezra Academy, or your participation in the play we put on about the Shoah in 1977. You, Matt, were one of the main actors, and you did well, and your father was so proud.

Years later when I moved back to Israel, there was a point when I needed help with my social security affair. I called upon your father, and he remembered me. He stood by me as only a , like him would do. That was in the year 1997. I will always cherish that memory of him. I am sure Hashem will never forget this either.

What an honor it was to graduate with Joe from Stamford High in the Class of 1960. We all knew he was destined for greater things as he represented our class as President. I am so saddened by the death of my classmate and friend Joe Lieberman. We were on many committees at Stamford High School. He was an inspiration to all the 650 students having been voted Most Popular, Most Likely to Suceed, President and Student Council Presidents. When he could, he came to many of our reunions at the Italian Center and made it a point to talk to so many!

I would like to send condolences to Hadassah and the Lieberman family. Joe will be severely missed, he was a great and wonderfull person.

I new Joe for about 50 years. I grew up in New Haven on Bellevue Road when Joe lived on the street behind me, I was a member of the New Haven Democratic Party, in later years I mover to the town of Cromwell and i became the Democratic Party Town Chairman. I always supported Joe even when he became an independent and worked on his elections.
I will miss his smile and his temperament.
May god always be with his spirit.

As a dedicated American and a proud member of the Jewish faith, I deeply respected his unwavering commitment to our country and to his staunch commitment to his religion.

Would like to speak on behalf
Of my father Walter Buddy O´Meara who adored Joe. Spoke of him so often with great pride of being the smartest kid in school. Joe even visited Dad here in Broadbrook where he and mom moved to be closer to us. Dad passed away peacefully August 2008 at 90. He loved Stamford and his career at SHS
Joe was a favorite person to Dad
