Joseph Angelo "Joe" Ligotti Jr.

Joseph "Joe" Angelo Ligotti Jr., affectionately known to many as The Guy from Boston, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, at the age of 59.
Born on August 5, 1965, Joe was the beloved son of the late Joseph Ligotti Sr. and the late Joan Vilasi (Giralamo). He is also lovingly remembered by his father's surviving spouse, Marie Ligotti.
Joe was the devoted husband of Paula (Hurley) Ligotti and the proud father of Anthony J. Ligotti and Francesca Ligotti, who were the lights of his life. He was a cherished brother to Jesse Bent and his wife Doreen, Renee Ligotti, and Angelo J. Ligotti and his wife Lucia. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends who were touched by his humor, generosity, and heart.
A long-time and dedicated employee of Massport, Joe was perhaps best known for his booming voice, magnetic personality, and unforgettable presence in the world of talk radio and online media. He co-hosted The Joe and Huggie Show on WTTK 96.9, made notable appearances on Fox & Friends and The Tonight Show, and later hosted The Answer with Joe Ligotti on WMEX. Long before social media influencers became common, Joe went viral "before going viral was a thing," capturing national attention with his bold opinions and unmistakable Boston charm.
Behind the booming voice and passionate rants, Joe had an unmatched gift for connection. He had the rare ability to make strangers feel like friends and always aimed to leave others smiling. Whether on the airwaves, on TV, or in person, Joe lived to entertain, uplift, and speak from the heart.
Joe Ligotti Jr. was larger than life in every way, and his legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love will live on through all who had the privilege to know him.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Monday, June 16th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ruggiero Family Memorial Home in East Boston.
