Sarah "Rose" Jane Carpenter, of Dorchester, MA, formally from Westwood, MA, and Newton, MA (Northamptonshire, UK originally) passed away on October 3rd, 2025 at 62 years of age.
Beloved Daughter of the late John Francis Carpenter and his wife, Joyce Evelyn Carpenter (Gardener), and younger Sister to the Late James Justin Carpenter.
Former Partner to the Late Gregory Lightfoot and his wife, Rose Limeberger, along with Gregory's eldest daughter, the late Amber Snyder.
Devoted Mother to Monica Carpenter and her partner, Eric Jones, Aunt to Holly Carpenter and her sister, Jamie Mabardy, and Great Aunt to Jason J. Seguer (17) and Lilly J. Ripley (13). Sarah also had 3 grandchildren, whom she was deeply devoted to and loved and cared for, and was her biggest purpose in her lifetime, Jayden Carpenter (13), Leianna Jones (4), and Eric Jones Jr (1).
One thing some might not know about Sarah is that she was adopted. Her birth mother and relatives were also from the UK. By the grace of God, science and modern technology, Sarah was reunited with her birth mother, Joan, "Nana" Squibbs, her younger sister, Sally Milsom, and her children, Ryan, Jack, and Amelia, and her Brother, Beau Dibble. This meant everything to Sarah and more. They had continued to keep in contact daily since reuniting and created a special and everlasting, loving bond.
Sarah was one of the funniest human beings ever, who would light up the room or any conversation or interaction with just about anyone she came in contact with, with her warm heart, friendly smile, generosity, and witty and wild sense of humor. Anyone who met Sarah would always walk away with a smile and a good laugh, feeling like they made a very special friend just from the impact she gave to everyone who knew her.
Sarah was also a longtime and extremely dedicated employee with Verizon, formerly, New England Telephone for just shy of 25 years. She had many hobbies and was a huge enthusiast of cooking and extremely skilled and nothing made her happier than when she was doing "her thing" and in her element, the kitchen, making the best meals of every kind for all her family, friends, and loved ones. Sarah was a big movie buff and her love of Classic Hollywood, black and white Movies in particular, especially suspense thrillers/mysteries like Sherlock Holmes and Alfred Hitchcock as well as Columbo was also one of her favorite pastimes and enjoyments.
Roses were her signature flower and Sarah always cherished the rose Garden her father, John, who brought his English gardening skills with him from The UK, had specifically grown for her. She was a huge music fan, especially of The Grateful Dead and Aerosmith, and participated in musical theatre as a child. She was a natural performer on the stage. She enjoyed learning how to sew with her mother, Joyce who was extremely talented and taught her how to make her own clothes. She loved to play board games and Trivial Pursuit with her family. She also enjoyed Scuba Diving in Bermuda when she visited and completed the required courses to do so. She was an excellent swimmer and loved the ocean. Sarah was always fiercely independent.
She loved her only daughter, Monica AKA "Boo", more than anything in the world and was her "Miracle Baby" as she referred to her as and was always extremely proud of her. Sarah left behind many friends throughout her life as well as extended family in The USA and back home in the UK. She will be missed deeply and never forgotten and forever loved.
Family and friends will honor Sarah's life by gathering at the Myrtle Baptist Church, 21 Curve Street, Newton, on Monday, November 3rd at Noon for a memorial service.
