Joseph "Joe" Michael Liuzza , 79 years old of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at home with his family by his side. Joe was born on May 14, 1935, in Amite, Louisiana to Tony and Josephine Arnone Liuzza. He was retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and The Founder of Liuzza Produce Farm. Joe enjoyed life and loved to go fishing and hunting but loved to spend time with his family especially his grandchildren. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Margie Capadona Liuzza, his son, Anthony George Liuzza and his wife Lucinda Guillot, his daughter, Cindy Liuzza Henderson and her husband Ronny, his grandchildren, Joey Liuzza, Kevin Liuzza, Elizabeth Campbell Liuzza, Scott Henderson, Justin Henderson and Amy Jo Henderson, his great-grandchildren, Addy Liuzza, Brandt Liuzza, Brady Liuzza, and Isabella Rose Liuzza, his sisters, Viriginna Starkey and Lucy Capadeboscq, his brother-in-law, George Capadona and his wife Carmelite, also many nieces, nephews and close friends. He is preceded in death by parents, Tony and Josephine Arnone Liuzza, his sisters, Lena Imbrone and Mary Lambrardo, his brothers, Jake Liuzza and Pete Liuzza. The family would like to express a special love and thank you to their Berry Town Produce Family, Belle Oaks Day Care Family, Caretaker Charles Green and New Century Hospice. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm with a Rosary at 8:00pm and Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 8:00am - 9:30am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Mass Celebrating Joe's Life will follow Saturday's visitation at 10:00am at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Independence. Interment will follow in the Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum in Independence.
