Joseph "Mac" McCavera

Joseph “Mac” McCavera, 92, of Dunnellon, FL, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Joseph was born in St. Albans, NY on March 10, 1933. He served in the US Army from April 29, 1953 through April 28, 1955. Joseph was married to Juana on January 25, 1969. They were married 57 years. Joseph worked in sales and delivery for Wonder Bread for more than 35 years. He loved the NY Yankees and baseball.

Joseph is preceded in death by parents James and Susan; his brothers Thomas, James, and Gerard; his sister-in-law, Josephine and brother-in-law, Augustine.

He is survived by his wife Juana; his sons Kevin, Daniel, and Matthew; his daughters-in-Law Michelle and Annie; his grandchildren Miya (Evan), Joseph, Kathleen, Gemma, McKenna, Sadie, James, and Josephine; his great grandchildren, Cassandra, Aurora, and Theodore; his sisters-in-Law Virginia, Arecelis, Minerva and his brother-in-Law, Angel Louis.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon, FL. There will be a visitation held one hour prior to service time in the church. Committal services with military honors will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 10:30am at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
