Joseph Maguire Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by MacDonald Funeral Home - Marshfield on Dec. 9, 2025.
Joseph J. Maguire of Plymouth passed away on December 3, 2025 at the age of 69. He is survived by his daughters, Angela Maguire and her husband Sean Delfano and Kathleen Maguire and her husband Alexander Alexopoulous; his sisters Susan Goselin and her husband David, Shella Leary and her husband John; grandchildren Steven, Chase, JaeJae, Joeey, Tommie, and Jessee; and his two beloved dogs Raja and Dozer. Son of the late Thomas and Anna C. Maguire, his is also predeceased by his twin brother Thomas Maguire, Jr.

Knowing Joe was an experience you wouldn't forget. He had a unique sense of humor and a special way of showing his love to his family and closest friends, usually involving trips to BJs. Joe was blessed with a close-knit circle of friends, employees, and family to whom he showed exceptional kindness.

His love for animals was unwavering, and his heart went out to dogs. His loyal canine companions will deeply miss him, and we take comfort in the thought that he is now reunited with his departed pets.

His determination to live on his own terms, even through his battle with cancer, was a true inspiration. He had a fighting spirit and never lost hope. Joe's passion for work, construction, and collecting cars and boats was unmatched. The ocean held a special place in Joe's heart, and he found solace in his time spent on the water.

Although Joe did not get to see his grandchildren graduate from college as he had wished, they will carry his legacy with them for years to come. His grandchildren cherished their time with their beloved 'Grampy,' and they surrounded him with love every single day until his final breath earthside.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who are closest to Joe, including, Tony, Billy, Pat, Diane, Sally and Niesha and Phil.

In lieu of flowers and in keeping with Joe's love for animals, donations in his memory can be made to CARE Southcoast animal rescue, online at: https://www.caresouthcoast.com/
