DANVERS - Mr. Joseph F. McEachern, Sr., 82, of Danvers, died peacefully, September 7th, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, with his loving family at his side. He has re-joined his beloved wife of 63 years, Marilyn C. (Walsh) McEachern, who entered eternal rest in November of 2023.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Henry and Emma (D'Angelo) McEachern. He was raised and educated in Salem and attended the former St. James School and Salem High School.
Mr. McEachern began his career as a Mason with Mazzaglia & Grasso Construction & Masonry Companies of Beverly. In his later years, he worked as a courier for Long's Jewelers until the time of his retirement.
Joe and Marilyn were an outgoing and social couple. They often attended dances and gatherings at the Vittori-Rocci Post #56 in Beverly, making friends along the way. Joe was easy to talk to and quick to smile, endearing himself to many. In his younger years, Joe spent many an evening bowling at the Sunnyside Bowladrome in Danvers. When he wasn't visiting and spending time with his 7 beloved grandchildren, he enjoyed yard work, gardening, and puttering around his home. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and NE Patriots fan and had a great fondness for animals. He had many feline and canine companions over the years that brought him great joy. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church in Danvers. Above all else, he was devoted to his loving wife and family and will be deeply missed.
The youngest of six siblings, Joe was predeceased by his siblings, Angie Hart, Connie Conrad, Penny Greener and Albert and Johnny Cipriani.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Sharon (McEachern) Boutchie and her husband, Glenn Jr., of Kingston, NH, his sons, Joseph McEachern, Jr., and his wife, Jenn of Danvers and Dan McEachern and his wife, Caren of Marblehead, his grandchildren, Andrew McEachern and his wife, Denise, James and Leah McEachern, Julia and Jessica Boutchie and Sadie and Coby McEachern and several nieces and nephews.
