Joseph Gary McKeever

Joseph Gary McKeever, 79, of Newington, CT, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 at home with his loving wife by his side.

Joseph was born on August 9, 1946, in Montreal, Canada, son of the late Michael and Catherine (Woods) McKeever. He came to the United States as a teenager, where he later met his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann (Mazurek) McKeever. Joseph was a devout Catholic and parishioner of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington.

A loving husband, father, grandpa and brother, Joseph is survived by his wife Mary Ann; his son Matthew McKeever and his wife Cara of Pennsylvania; his daughter Heather Downar and her husband Anthony and their daughter Danica of Middletown; his brother Michael McKeever of Canada; his sister Dawn Milne and her husband Rennie of Canada; his sister-in-law Lori McKeever of North Carolina; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Deacon Joseph and Karen Mazurek; along with the many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends in the U.S. and Canada.

Joseph is also pre-deceased by his brother Patrick McKeever.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave, Newington, CT 06111. Following will be a Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington. Interment will be in West Meadow Cemetery in Newington.
