Robert E. Fabrizi

Robert E. Fabrizi (Bob), 87, long-time resident of Wethersfield, passed away on Monday March 16, 2026 at his residence due to complications from amyloidosis.

Bob was born in Hartford on September 16, 1938 to Anthony Fabrizi and Anna D'Ambrosio (who passed when Bob was 18 months old). He was raised by his father and stepmother Madeline in Hartford where he met and married the love of his life, Patricia Leniart, on October 10, 1959. Bob served as a Hartford Police Officer retiring as a Lieutenant in 1985 after 25 years of service. While working as a young police officer, he was a member of the Army National Guard for several years. Always keeping busy, Bob started getting into the vending business while winding down his career as a police officer. This grew into Action Vending which he owned and operated for more than 32 years before retiring in 2017. Bob was fond of sharing the many stories of his adventures as a police officer and experiences as a businessman. He and Pat loved going on cruises with their friends where he was always the life of the party. Bob enjoyed going to the casino to play blackjack and poker. He loved spending summers at his cottage at Lake Hayward mostly because it was a place where all his children and grandchildren gathered over the years. A loving father and grandfather, it was not uncommon to find Bob talking proudly about all his children and grandchildren to friends and acquaintances.

Bob is preceded in death by parents Anthony and Anna, stepmother Madeline, brother Joseph Fabrizi and sister AnnMary Fabrizi.

Bob is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife of 66 years Patricia; Son Robert E. Fabrizi Jr. (wife Maria), Son Michael Fabrizi (fiancé Sandra da Silva and son Augusto), Daughter Lori Salemi (husband Anthony); Grandchildren Anthony Fabrizi (wife Melissa), Nicholas Fabrizi (wife Allissa), Amanda Braho (husband Klajdi), Dylan DellaFera, Haley DellaFera, Amanda Salemi, Anthony Salemi, Ava Salemi, Nicholas Salemi, Olivia Salemi; great-Grandchildren Aubriella, Emiliano, Penelope, Francesca; Siblings Arthur Fabrizi (wife Karen) and Sylvia Stewart (husband Jeff); brother-in-law John Leniart (wife Josephine); and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Avenue, Newington, Monday March 23 from 10am-12pm. Funeral Service will take place at 12:15 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford.
