Joseph Scott Milhoan, age 55, of Wilmington, DE, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Born in Sandyville, WV, and raised in Ripley, WV, Joseph was the son of the late Mary G. (Taylor) and Dallas D. Milhoan. He attended Ripley High School and East Carolina University.
Joseph's professional life was as diverse as his interests. He worked in a variety of roles, including his time at PNC Bank, where he formed lifelong friendships, and at Kitchen & Company, where he enjoyed sharing his passion for cooking with others.
Joseph had many loves in life. He was an avid cook, an enthusiastic golfer, and a true outdoorsman who cherished hiking and camping-especially in the beauty of his home state of West Virginia. Music was another lifelong passion, and he was particularly fond of 1980s rock, which provided the soundtrack to many of his happiest moments.
A longstanding member of the Granite-Corinthian Masonic Lodge No. 34 in Talleyville, Delaware, Joseph valued community, friendship, and giving back.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Cheryl Milhoan; three children, Brian Crowe, Conner Milhoan, and Sierra Milhoan; and three siblings, Dayton Milhoan, Joan Snyder (Dave), and Shawna Milhoan. He was also preceded in death by his two older sisters, Debra Pike and Sharon Willis.
Services are being planned for early fall and will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation, 1124 East 7th Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, or online at www.kalmarnyckel.org.
