BOWLING GREEN -- Joseph L. Minnick, 75, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away July 16, 2025 surrounded by family and friends. He was born August 23, 1949 to the late Robert and Wilma (Bortle) Minnick. He married the love of his life, Darlene Eckel, September 10, 1971 and she survives.
Joe was a 1967 graduate of Grand Rapids High School. He went on to obtain his bachelor's degree in Marketing from University of Findlay. Joe played basketball throughout high school and college. Joe was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, the Moose Lodge and St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bowling Green.
Joe spent his career in the advertising and marketing area in and around Toledo, Ohio. He had been recognized by the Advertising Club of Toledo with the Silver Medal Award. He served on The Sophia Center Board of Directors for several years. He had also served as a board member on The Cystic Fibrous of Northwest Ohio.
In his free time, Joe enjoyed listening to music and watching TV, snowmobiling, bicycling, camping, traveling, and gathering with friends and family at social events. He lived his life to the fullest, both in Northwest Ohio and Islamorada, Florida.
Along with his wife of nearly 54 years, Darlene, Joe is survived by his sister Debra Kaltenbach (Neal Spurgeon) of Swanton, Ohio, in-laws Richard (Pat) Eckel, Sister Diana Lynn Eckel, and Deborah Wilson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister Roberta (Richard) Drouard and brothers-in-law David Eckel, Daniel Eckel, Bruce Wilson, and Edward Kaltenbach.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 21 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 W. Wooster St. A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 150 S. Enterprise St. Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Father Tom McQuillen will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Sisters of St. Francis, 6832 Convent Blvd, Sylvania, OH 43560.
