Joseph F. Moore

Joseph Francis Moore died peacefully in his sleep in Chatham Township, NJ on Sunday, January 12 after his beloved family gathered to say goodbye. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, his daughter Kristina, son Michael and grandsons Micah, Kyan and Elias, his son Kevin, daughter-in-law Ashley, and grandchildren Gabriella, Isabella, and Hunter, and his sisters Karen Dance, Judy Christakes, Linka Goffe, and brother Ronald Kolarik. Joe joins his brother James Sisco and his mother Marjorie Kolarik in the afterlife, where he will finally meet his father, Joseph Francis Moore, Sr.
Joe was born on April 15, 1942 in East Chicago, Indiana, where he grew up dirt poor and in difficult circumstances. His way to a better life was to serve in the US Airborne 82nd Division and use the GI bill to enroll in college after he finished his service. Joe had an insatiable curiosity and extraordinary intelligence that led him to pursue advanced education, including PhD studies in theology. He was a man of deep faith and became a minister, which brought him to New York City where he met his wife Marilyn.
Joe shared his love of learning with his three children and supported all of their interests and achievements as they grew up into the adults of whom he was so proud. Joe was warm and kind and always had a funny quip or joke for everyone he met, and his passing is mourned by all who knew him. We love you dad and are so proud of you and everything you achieved.
The family will have a brief military ceremony and memorial at 10:45 at the Chapel at BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey.
