Joseph Overbeck Obituary
He was a 1982 graduate of Saranac High School. Joseph was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He worked construction for numerous years at Overbeck Construction. Joseph enjoyed cooking or grilling, woodworking or carving, and loved the outdoors.
Surviving is his wife of 35 years, Barbara A. Overbeck of Saranac. Daughter, Amanda (Phil) Pomber of Mackinac Island. Grandson, Issac Pomber of Mackinac Island. Mother, Lillian Overbeck. Siblings, Michele (Ralph) Westbrook, Bill (Deb) Overbeck, Doug (Suzi) Overbeck, Mary (Mark) Sheeran, Cathy (Greg) Usher, Sue (Phill) Wizorek, Ed (Jayne) Overbeck, Judy (Gary) McDurmon, Ron (Katie) Overbeck, John (Becky) Overbeck, Teresa (Mark) Phillips. Mother and father-in-law, John and June Leland. Brother-in-laws, Douglas (Angie) Leland, Craig (Talia) Leland, Jeffery Leland, Chuck (Teresa) Leland, Mike(Pam) Leland. And several nieces nephews and cousins. He was preceded by father, Bill Overbeck Sr.. Brother-in-laws, Barry Ferguson and Terry Warner. Nephews, Greg Westbrook, Ryan Overbeck, and William Overbeck.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, November 21 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Saranac with Father Michael Goodwin, celebrant. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 20 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Rite of Committal at Saranac Cemetery. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to veteran organizations. Online condolences may be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com
