Joseph "Joe" Jude Parr, 79, of
Warminster, PA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 23, 2025 in his residence, just a day shy of his 80th birthday.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and son to his family, as well as a loyal friend to many others. He will be missed dearly.
Joseph was a disabled US Army Veteran, spending most of his time on base in Kitzingen, Germany, in the 3rd Infantry Division, 3rd Battalion D Battery, 76th Field Artillery unit. He cherished his time in service and duty to his country. He enjoyed 'mom-n-pop' diners all over the US, and exploring the open roads and state parks as an over-the-road truck driver for JB Hunt. He also worked as a machine maintenance technician for Keystone Franklin in Hatboro, then Fort Washington, for 25 years.
Joseph was born in Philadelphia and attended St David's Roman Catholic School in Willow Grove, PA. In addition to achieving his truck driving certification and Class A CDL license, he was proud to earn his diploma and furthered his trade experience at Bucks County Vocational Technical School. His greatest achievement was delivering his baby girl at home, with no physician present.
Joseph loved to chat with strangers, make new friends and travel as much as possible. He loved hunting and fishing, annual trips to Québec and Ontario, Canada and West Virginia, and taking weekend drives to the Poconos, Delaware Water Gap and Lancaster, PA. He loved attending annual German festivals in the area and spending quality time with his dogs Jasper and Raya. He had a childhood dream of becoming a forest park ranger and he was an avid reader throughout his life, of fictional novels, and always kept abreast of current events from numerous periodicals.
More than anything, Joseph loved to instill a sense of adventure and travel, the importance of a good education, love of nature and a hard work ethic in his children.
Joseph was born in Philadelphia to the late Daniel Parr and Marie Monroe Parr. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dori (Hollow) Parr, daughter Sacheen H. Weston of FL, son Steven W. Parr of PA, granddaughter Courtney R. Weston of FL, brother Michael Parr of FL, sister Marie (Parr) Perry of PA, sister Patricia Parr of VA and sister Christina (Parr) Leese of PA.
He is preceded in death by his sisters Frances (Parr) Domeracki of PA, Eileen (Parr) Trofi of NJ, Margaret (Parr) Defeo of FL, Geraldine (Parr) Burford of FL, Terese (Parr) McLean of PA and his brother Daniel Parr of FL, as well as many nieces and nephews.
