Joseph Patton Obituary

Joseph was born in Larksville, Pennslyvania and was a quality control inspector for 30 years with the American Can Company of Hillside, NJ.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and later toured Japan as a player with the Army baseball team. After he returned home, he became active in the Linden baseball recreational leagues for 20 years. He enjoyed coaching at every level and working with the city's youth.
Upon his retirement, Joseph enjoyed bowling. His favorite pastime was playing golf with his sons on the east coast of the U.S.
Joseph was predeceased by the love of his life, Frances Patton, after 73 years of marriage.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph Patton of Williams Township, PA and James Patton and his longtime partner, Rosanne Niceforo of Monroe Township, NJ.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home located at 275 West Milton Avenue in Rahway, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00am on Friday, June 13, 2025, at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church located at 1805 Penbrook Terrace/Valley Road in Linden, NJ. Entombment will immediately follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue in Colonia, NJ.
