Joe was raised in the town of Vizzini along with his siblings Gaetano Puccio (pre-deceased), Lucia Giarusso (pre-deceased), Mario Puccio, Gianna Freddi, Concetta Dituri, and Anna Garra. After marrying his childhood sweetheart Vita Maugeri in 1959, they moved to the United States and settled in Brooklyn, NY. They later moved to the Great Kills section of Staten Island where they raised their family. After their children had grown, Joe and Vita relocated and finally settled in New Jersey. Joe lived the American dream by building his successful home improvement business from the ground up. Joe had true artistic talent and he was known for having hands of gold. Joe was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Joe enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to dance and when Joe and Vita took to the dance floor people stopped just to watch them. Joe loved having conversations over a scotch with anyone that was in his presence. Above all, what Joe loved the most were his children John Puccio, Margaret Tocco and her husband Thomas and Joanna Giasi and her husband Dean and his grandchildren Jessica, Joseph, Sabrina, Liana, Nicholas, Julia and Alessia who all adored and loved him immensely.
Joe was a loving and caring man who will be deeply missed by his family, siblings, many nieces and nephews, friends and by all those that knew him.
Joseph's family will receive friends from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday January 11, 2024 at St Ambrose Church located at 83 Throckmorton Ln Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
