Joseph Reiners Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gardner Funeral Home, Runnemede on Aug. 22, 2025.
Joseph W. Reiners, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born to Joseph Reiners and Magdalen Butts Reiners, Joe lived a life defined by faith, family, service, and devotion to his community.
A proud U.S. Navy Veteran, Joe went on to work for a time with A&P as well as a long and fulfilling career with the Delaware River Port Authority. Over the course of 42 years, he rose through the ranks to serve as Highway Supervisor. His hard work, dedication, and leadership left an enduring mark on all who worked alongside him.
Joe was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Pat Reiners (née Roberts), with whom he shared 64 wonderful years. Together they built a family rooted in love, faith, and tradition.
He was the cherished father of five children; David Reiners (wife Kathy Mayer), Susan Dyson (husband Donald Dyson), Marybeth Reiners, Stephen Reiners (wife Barbara Kravchuck), and Patricia Duer (husband Dave Duer).
Joe was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Joseph Dyson (spouse Kate), Matthew Reiners, Daniel Reiners, Megan Dyson, Matthew Dyson, Timothy Reiners, Thomas Reiners, Michael Reiners, Emily Duer, Peter Reiners, John Duer, Samuel Duer, and Margaret Duer, and four great-grandchildren: Andrew Dyson, Niko Walker, Lucas Dyson, and Mackenzie Dyson. He was especially delighted in cheering on each milestone and accomplishment of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his siblings Mary Kohler, Dorothy Alliano, and John Reiners, and is survived by his sister Carol Geiger, along with many nieces and nephews.
A lifelong fan of Notre Dame football and the Philadelphia Phillies, Joe's loyalty to his teams was matched only by his devotion to Gloucester Catholic High School and to Catholic education, which remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Joe was a man of deep and enduring faith. As a longtime parishioner of St. John Vianney and Infant Jesus Parish, he actively lived out his beliefs, bringing kindness, generosity, and quiet strength to all who knew him.
Above all, Joe was a family man. His legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in those he held most dear.
