Joseph Henry Reumont
9/17/1933 – 4/8/2025
Joseph Henry Reumont passed peacefully in his sleep on April, 8, 2025. He was preceded in death by his
beloved wife, Hisako Reumont, and his daughter, Ceceila Reumont. He leaves behind six children and
their families: George Reumont of Gulf Breeze, FL; Mary Ann Mulford of Prince Federick, MD; Francis
Reumont of Huntingtown, MD; Therese Teaford Lakeview, SC; Christina Nicholson of Chesapeake
Beach, MD and Thomas Reumont of Shady Side, MD. Joseph had 23 grandchildren and 18 great
grandchildren spread over many states.
Joseph served in the Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. While on that deployment he met his future
wife, Hisako. Once married they returned to the United States and began raising a family while Joseph
worked for the US Postal Service before settling into a job as a lineman with Pepco that he would hold
until he retired in 1991.
Joseph and Hisako enjoyed anything related to the outdoors – they could be found
working in their gardens, camping, fishing or just about any other outdoor activity you could imagine.
Joseph was always quick to volunteer to help his church, family and friends. One of his favorite things to
help with was taking down trees – and he didn't stand on the ground and supervise – he was the person in
the tree! Joseph was also a lover of animals – dogs in particular and you would always find him riding his
bike through his neighborhood with his dog by his side. He loved fiercely and deeply and his loss will be
felt by many.
A viewing will be held at Hardesty Funeral Home in Galesville, Maryland from 3p to 5p on Saturday,
April 12, 2025.
Mass of Christian Burial
Monday, April 14th 2025 - 11:00 AM - Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church
