Joseph “Joe” Rio, 56, passed away in his home on October 3, 2025, after a 10-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Joe was born on July 19, 1969. He was a loving husband to Kristan (nee Pavloski) for 14 years and a devoted father to his daughter and best buddy, Vita Grace.
Joe was the son of Joe and Jeanette Rio. He is survived by his siblings, Roxanne (Treg) Geis, Rhonda (late Gabe) Ramirez, Sam (Kim) Rio, Tony (Rose) Rio, and Roberta (Dan) Denz. He was the son-in-law of Dennis and Kathy Pavloski, and brother-in-law to Denny (Crystal) Pavloski, Todd (Kelly) Pavloski, and Amy (Danny) Herman. Joe was a cherished uncle to Sammy, Matt, Tati, Josh (Kayla), Emma (Kyle), Danny (Nicole), Ryan (McKenna), Abby, and AJ; Katrina, Xavier, Ethan, Chloe, Olive, AJ, Ava, and Edie. Additionally, he was a great uncle to Alyiah, Rylan, Sadie, Emmy, Liv, Gianna, and Maya, as well as a nephew and cousin to many.
A visitation will be held on October 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, located at 450 W Lake St, Roselle, IL 60172. A mass will take place on October 14, 2025, at 9:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, located at 134 Arthur St, Elmhurst, IL 60126. Please meet directly at the Church for Mass.
